BEIJING (China Daily Show) – Identifying himself as seemingly the last member of his production team not to have been arrested, charged or mysteriously vanished by anti-corruption investigators, 37-year-old CCTV associate producer Hao Bin told reporters that he is quietly considering giving himself the rest of the day off.
“I’m not quite sure what I’m supposed to do now, anyway,” Hao explained. “[Head producer] Zhu hasn’t check in for over a week and he’s the one I normally take orders from.”
Glancing around at the once-busy office space over which an eerie silence has now settled, Hao added that he might as well slip off early.
“It’s not like anyone’s going to notice,” Hao laughed nervously, toying with a stapler from the desk of detained TV anchor Bing Shen. “Or as if there’s any work to do.”
Hao expressed his fear that the future of his department’s stable of cosplays dramas and agricultural quiz shows is now likely in serious doubt. “I might as well take the whole rest of the week off,” he added.
At the time of going to press, Hao was observed hurriedly packing a few items before hailing a cab and directing the driver to the airport.
